How to Calculate Name Numerology
This site's name numerology maps letters in the full birth name to the modern 1–9 table commonly called Pythagorean, producing expression, soul urge, and personality indicators.
One name can address three questions: all letters relate to expression, vowels to inner motivation, and consonants to outward presentation.
Core name-calculation steps
- Use the full name and surname given at birth; do not substitute a current name for the primary calculation.
- Normalize Turkish and Latin characters through the defined mapping rule.
- Match each letter with its value in the Pythagorean 1–9 table.
- Total all letters, vowels only, or consonants only for the relevant metric.

Expression or destiny number
Every eligible letter in the full birth name is added. The indicator offers symbolic questions about developing ability and expressing potential; destiny does not mean a fixed future.
Using only a first name would omit the family name and any other birth names, so the primary calculation uses the complete birth record name.

Soul urge number
Only vowel values are added. The result frames themes such as inner motivation, values, closeness, and freedom that a person can compare with lived experience.
This site's method classifies Y as a consonant. It does not ask the user to decide whether Y is a vowel case by case.

Personality number
Only consonant values are added. Personality is a symbolic frame for initial impression, social style, and qualities visible to others rather than a complete account of character.
Outward presentation and inner motivation can differ. A gap between personality and soul urge is an expected result of using different letter groups.

Turkish characters and letter groups
Ç, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ş, and Ü are converted to C, G, I, O, S, and U. Spaces and punctuation have no numeric value, which keeps the same spelling stable across devices.
The vowel set is A, E, I, O, and U after normalization. Remaining eligible letters are consonants; Y is treated as a consonant in this method.
Birth name and current name
The complete name given at birth is the stable input for the core profile. A current name may add a separate everyday-use layer, but it does not replace the birth-name result.
This distinction avoids suggesting that a later name change erases the original core calculation.
Kemal Kolay comparison example
Kemal Kolay is used only as an approved example and test name. The engine normalizes it as KEMAL KOLAY, then derives expression from all letters, soul urge from vowels, and personality from consonants.
The three indicators do not compete: expression addresses capacity, soul urge inner motivation, and personality the first outward layer. None is a scientific measurement or a future prediction.
A name is not a fixed destiny
A letter total does not prove a person's worth, success, or character. Language, culture, experience, opportunity, and choice extend far beyond symbolic number mapping.

Should I include a middle name?
Yes, if it is part of the full name given at birth.
Does a changed surname replace the result?
No. The birth name stays primary; a current name may be considered only as an optional usage layer.
Normalization principle
Letter mapping and character conversion are versioned code rules; they do not depend on device language or font rendering.
